Back when guitarist Eddie Hazel, keyboardist Bernie Worrell and bassist Bootsy Collins were part of ringmaster George Clinton’s carnival of costumed freaks and funksters, Parliament and Funkadelic were two separate entities (sort of). However, those distinctions evaporated years ago. Today, Papa George’s traveling jamboree makes room for hip-hop-infused R&B, metal shredding and everything else under the sun — or under the “Flashlight.”
